THE USE OF KHAKI

Through time, the army textiles used to created military uniforms have changed their color based on the armies necessities. From, blue to green, until they decided to use Khaki. Why is it so used? To start, let’s find out what is the meaning of Khaki, this is a Hindi word which meaning is dusted brown color, and it has become one of the favorite shades all around the world, the khaki color fabrics are usually made of wool or cotton and it’s one of the favorites of the army textile companies to produces military clothing. The reason why this color is so popular among military forces it is that it helps to get better camouflage clothing and it’s easier to clean or to hide stains.

One of the first army forces to use this color was the Brittish army after they discovered that khaki color was so helpful hiding all the dirt from the trenches they had to be in.
